Blue and Green Swirl Serving Platters:
I did a combination of serving platters, a bowl, a plate, and a circle platter. I glazed them all with a mixture of blues and greens, I got this glaze idea from a plate that I saw at my friends house, I loved the way it looked and I wanted to recreate it. I am very proud of how my pieces turned out and I finished off my first semester of ceramics strong!
Breast Cancer Awarness:
For this project I wanted to bring attention to breast cancer. I was inspired to bring awareness to this illness by my family friend, she is like my "second" mom. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and I haven't been able to see her for about 2 months now due to her unstable immune system. In this project I wanted to capture a quote that could show how you always need to have faith when times are rough. I used a quote that says "Let your faith be bigger than your fear." For the finished piece I hand-built a ring tray to hold jewelry.
Party Bowl:
In this project I wanted to capture a fun "party bowl". This bowl would most likely hold chips. I made this piece by rolling and throwing a slab. Next, I laid the slab over a bowl that I wanted my clay bowl to be the size of. I let it dry. I then glazed it!
Teacher Appreciation:
I made a teacher appreciation piece for Ms. Raymond, my english teacher. I made a heart shaped bowl. I glazed it with a beautiful rustic red. In this bowl she can hold any of her school supplies, for example, paper clips.
